Job Overview

The Accounting Manager - Fixed Assets leads the fixed asset accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP. This role involves managing a team, overseeing CIP, and collaborating with finance, operations, and procurement teams to enhance asset tracking and reporting processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee the fixed asset accounting process, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Manage Construction in Progress (CIP) tracking, ensuring timely capitalization and proper accounting treatment.
  • Develop and maintain fixed asset policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes related to fixed assets.
  • Prepare and review fixed asset reconciliations, roll-forward schedules, and financial disclosures.
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and IT to ensure proper tracking and recording of fixed assets.
  • Support financial reporting, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
  • Work closely with auditors to support fixed asset-related audit procedures.
  • Drive process improvements in fixed asset tracking and reporting through system enhancements.
  • Supervise and mentor staff accountants in fixed asset-related responsibilities.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on fixed assets.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
  • Experience with NetSuite, fixed asset subledgers, and CIP tracking.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring accounting staff.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in the Bitcoin mining or data center industry is a plus.
