Delta is on a journey to become a world-class retailer, changing the way Delta can sell and service flight and ancillary products and improve the customer experience. To achieve this goal, we need to ensure Delta makes the right products available at the right price points to its customers. To make informed decisions on what price we should sell our products at, Delta has an internally developed demand forecast and inventory optimization engine that is leveraged by our Revenue Management teams to optimize Delta’s passenger revenue.
Enterprise Solutions’ (ES) Revenue Enablement team is seeking a Specialist to work cross-functionally with Delta’s Commercial and IT teams. This role will involve becoming a subject matter expert in the Demand Forecasting & Inventory Optimization space, as well as driving innovation in some of Delta’s core commercial systems.
- Responsibilities:
- Understand and improve Delta’s passenger demand forecast and inventory optimization
- Set the vision and roadmap to ensure forecasting and optimization work for future commercial initiatives
- Maintain and enhance Delta’s passenger demand valuation process
- Investigate and resolve issues in the Demand Forecasting & Inventory Optimization, and demand valuation spaces
- Collaborate with data scientists, IT, and relevant stakeholders across the enterprise to develop and implement scalable solutions for Delta
- Ensure reliability of the systems and processes within the Demand Forecasting & Inventory Optimization and Demand Valuation scopes to support Delta’s 24/7 operations

- What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Intellectually curious, highly motivated, and willing to challenge the status quo
- Can cut through ambiguity, identify solutions, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build good connections within Delta’s commercial and IT departments, as well as with external vendors
- Experience learning and improving diverse and complicated business processes
- Ability to develop and own technical solutions in collaboration with data scientists and IT, from ideation to implementation
- Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Delta’s organization
- Strong analytical and data skills
- Must be performing satisfactorily in current position

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
- What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Working knowledge of airlines, RM tools, processes, and data is strongly preferred
- Experience managing multiple projects with limited supervision and making well-informed priority tradeoffs
- Ability to work well with and rally diverse teams around a goal
- Track record of delivering thoughtful solutions while meeting or exceeding deadlines
- Experience working with SAS, SQL, Python
