The HR Strategy & Planning (HRSP) team plays a critical role in aligning enterprise HR strategy with business priorities and supporting transformational programs across the organization. Our team drives executive strategy support, leadership communications, annual planning cycles, regular reporting, and complex initiatives that impact the 100,000+ employees of Delta.
As a co-op, you’ll be embedded in a high-impact team working at the intersection of data, storytelling, strategy, and executive alignment. You’ll support HR enterprise planning efforts, help develop leadership-ready materials, and contribute to the evolution of employee experience design and measurement. You'll work side-by-side with experienced Program Managers and gain exposure to senior leaders across HR and Delta.
- Sample Projects And Responsibilities
- Support monthly enterprise HR Executive Council (HREC) updates, including coordination, performing data synthesis and insights, and finalizing pre-read
- Conduct research and data synthesis (internal & external) to support decision-making and improve storytelling in executive materials
- Assist in development of success metrics and performance updates across multiple strategic goals
- Partner on planning and logistics for transformational working groups
- Help shape communication strategies for internal engagement and initiative rollouts
- Build templates and tracking tools to help scale new processes
- Participate in team stand-ups, planning sessions, and optional working group experiences (e.g. with Change Management, Total Rewards, or Talent)

- Supporting HR-wide planning cycles, KPI tracking, and helping teams align their efforts to enterprise goals

- Working with teams across the HR ecosystem (e.g., Talent, Total Rewards, Learning) to move enterprise initiatives forward
- Program & Initiative Support
- Supporting large-scale, transformational projects with structure, clarity, and thoughtful coordination
- Experience & Journey Mapping
- Contributing to employee experience measurement and helping design key moments that matter across the employee lifecycle.
- Governance & Operational Excellence
- Helping establish repeatable, scalable ways of working that support consistency and alignment across HR
- What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
- Optional to upload a portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and design execution
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
- Must be able to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2025, Summer 2026, and Spring 2027
- This position requires student to work for 3 alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters
- Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op
- Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and balancing multiple workstreams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, especially when synthesizing complex topics
- Demonstrated curiosity, professionalism, and ownership over deliverables
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
- What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)
- Preferred majors in Business, Human Resources, Public Policy, Industrial/Organizational Psych, Communications, Industrial Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field
- Experience or coursework in strategy, organizational behavior, consulting, or design thinking
- Familiarity with research tools, survey platforms, and/or storytelling frameworks
- Interest in employee experience, transformation, and/or enterprise planning
- Exposure to project management principles or tools (Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.)
- Interest in working cross-functionally and seeing how big ideas become real at scale
