Our AI agents deliver rapid, purpose-built intelligence so biotechnology leaders can determine-with confidence-the next best action to support their strategic planning, launches, and lifecycle management. As we build the next generation of biotech intelligence, we adhere to the highest standards of security and privacy while outpacing the traditional consulting services the industry has relied upon.About the Opportunity

As Head of Engineering, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our products, partnering with the CEO to evolve our prototypes and deliver production-ready software for enterprise biotechnology clients. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a high-agency, senior software leader with significant equity upside. You'll architect and execute a secure, scalable, AI-powered platform to harmonize diverse clinical, financial, and scientific information sources, all while meeting the stringent requirements of a highly regulated industry. What You'll Do

  • Partner with the CEO to Shape Product and Technology Vision: Create and scale a versatile technology stack that solves real client pain points.

  • Implement AI-Native Knowledge Workflows: Design the next generation of life sciences commercial intelligence using AI-native approaches.

  • Data Integration & Harmonization: Build and manage a robust orchestration platform to ingest, process, and harmonize inputs from various sources, including internal systems and vendor data.

  • Data Access & Management: Implement and optimize data access techniques such as Databricks Delta Share, alongside traditional ETL pipelines.

  • LLM Integration: Leverage large language models (LLMs) to generate insights and embed them in a self-service, client-ready platform.

  • Security & Privacy: Ensure compliance with rigorous security and privacy standards, safeguarding sensitive information in a highly regulated industry.

  • Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate closely with the Founder/CEO to iterate on product vision, ship features, and deliver value to clients.

What You'll Need

We value and actively seek exceptional talent from all backgrounds and experiences, recognizing that excellence takes many forms. While diverse journeys inspire us, we believe the most successful candidates for this role will share the following characteristics:

  • 6+ years in a senior technical role at a major venture-backed startup.

  • Published high-impact papers or made significant contributions to major open-source technologies (e.g., with tens of thousands of GitHub stars).

  • Expert in at least one modern language like Python, with experience writing and/or reviewing millions of lines of code.

  • Proficiency in at least one LLM framework (e.g., LangChain).

  • Experience building stateful agentic workflows more complex than basic RAG; bonus points for a pre-LLM background in knowledge graphs or semantic search.

  • Degree(s) in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a similar field from a top university.

Who You Are

This role is a strong fit if the following resonates with you:

  • Hands-On, Founding Engineer Mentality: You have a bias for action and execution.

  • Motivated by Early-Stage Impact: You thrive in a startup environment and are driven by ownership, upside potential, and the chance to shape a company from the ground up.

  • Backend Data Engineering Expertise: You have experience building scalable information services platforms, with proficiency in ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.

  • LLM Experience: You have a strong bias toward integrating large language models or similar AI/ML frameworks into backend systems.

  • Security & Privacy Focus: You understand secure software development practices and data privacy principles (healthcare experience not required).

  • Data Platforming Skills: Familiarity with modern data stack tools (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow) and techniques like Delta Share for efficient data access.

  • Location: Strong preference for candidates based in the Greater Philadelphia area, but open to remote for the right person.

Why Join Us?

  • Foundational Role: Be a co-founder and shape the technical product and vision.

  • Significant Equity: Meaningfully participate in the company's success.

  • Impactful Work: Build AI-driven solutions that disrupt traditional pharma consulting and drive transformative outcomes for clients.

  • Collaborative Culture: Work directly with a Founder/CEO in a fast-moving, high-trust environment.
