Our Sales team works closely with travel agencies, United travel departments, corporate clients and more to provide phenomenal customer solutions that lead to fruitful business relationships. And through valued customer feedback, optimized partnerships, and innovative sales strategies, Sales continues to be the largest revenue-generating department at United.Key Responsibilities:The National Account Manager leads the headquarters and regional relationships with United’s National/Regional travel management companies, with annual revenue between $500M and $1B. They negotiate incentive agreements and are responsible for budgeting and usage of co-op funds valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, as well as travel funds and Sales Tools. Their primary focus is to increase revenue, share and maximize ROI through analysis, customer incentives, contract agreements and account management. They demonstrate exceptional understanding of their customer base, incentive structure and networks with key influencers throughout their organization. They utilize consultative selling and leadership accessibility to build strong, trust-based relationships within client hierarchy to establish self/company as critical strategic business partner.
  • Increased revenue, share, and overall contract performance with a focus on high yield domestic, international, corporate and leisure revenues. Agreements, initiatives, and events are calibrated to maximize performance against business objectives.
  • Conducts in-depth data analysis, captures market intelligence, and leverages input from multiple stakeholders to create unique contractual and non-contractual client solutions that maximize share, profitability and customer loyalty. Conducts high quality account reviews, establishes aggressive but reasonable goals and consistently monitors and drives goal achievement. Taking ownership of assigned areas within the TMC portfolio.
  • Effectively navigates within the client's organization to build relationships and credibility throughout the management hierarchy and across relevant divisions. Creates and delivers high quality client-facing presentations and acts as a trusted advisor and key business partner.
  • Collaborates with Field Sales teams and internal stakeholders to implement programs and activities that maximize the effectiveness of agency incentives and business development agreements at a local level.
  • Leverages participation in high-visibility activities such as executive joint calls, advisory boards, industry and company sponsored events to communicate our strategic objectives, enhance relationships, and drive client loyalty
  • Oversees and provides day-to-day coaching and leadership support for 1-2 direct reports. Articulates clear objectives and directs the team's work activities to achieve goals and maximize business results.
Note: This position provides for a remote work arrangement, with preference toward candidates in Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; Newark, NJ; New York City, NY; or Washington, D.C./Dulles. This position will be required to travel up to 50% of the time.QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of sales/airline management experience
  • Foundational understanding of airline sales or travel agency sales
  • Demonstrated general business acumen and financial aptitude
  • Strong communication, analytical and negotiating skills
  • Ability to create and deliver customer-facing presentations
  • Ability to cultivate business partnerships
  • Aggressive, energetic, results orientation
  • Proficiency in key business computer applications (MS Office Suite)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • MBA or advanced degree

  • Experience leading or mentoring a team
  • Knowledge and user experience of the company’s systems and data sources used within Sales
  • Salesforce/CRM system experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and leverage digital and social selling tools
  • Experience or knowledge in Finance, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Marketing, Loyalty or Alliances
